Food and brain of children at different ages

As the child's diet will be at different ages

Mother's milk is sufficient for babies from birth to five months of age. No other food should be given to the child during this time. After five months, the baby should be given additional food along with mother's milk. Although after five months, the amount of milk in the mother's breast does not decrease. But at this time, the baby needs extra nutrition. So the child has to be given other food. Babies can consume breast milk along with other foods up to two years of age.

Five months from birth

  • Breast milk should be given to the baby as soon as possible after birth.
  • As often as the baby cries, it should be fed with mother's milk.
  • Clean the nipple well before giving milk and put it in the baby's mouth.
  • If there is not enough milk in the breast, taking Metoclopramide as advised by the doctor will increase the milk in the breast. If that doesn't work or if it is not possible to give breast milk to the child for some reason, measures should be taken as advised by the doctor.
  • From the age of four months the child acquires some ability to digest solid food. Then take action as per expert advice.

Six months to two years

  • Feed the child four to five times a day. Usually feed at 6 am, 10 am, 2 pm, 6 pm and 9 or 10 pm. Babies will eat five to eight ounces at a time.
  • Milk at 6 a.m. Boiled condensed milk mixed with semolina or rice powder.
  • At 10 am, eggs, halwa, khichuri, pies, fruit juice etc.
  • Rice, fish, meat, vegetables, fruits at 2 p.m. If the child wants to drink milk after the meal, milk.
  • 6 pm to 10 am.

Among the vegetables, the vegetables that children will eat are: carrot, potato, tomato, bean, beetroot, gourd, brinjal, kankarol, shrimp, potato, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, lettuce, red cabbage, pumpkin greens, spinach etc.

  • The fruits to be fed to the child are banana, orange, papaya, guava, apple, grape etc.

Two years to five years

Two to five year old children can eat all adult food. He must be fed regularly four to five times a day. At this time, special attention should be paid to the calories in the food. It is necessary to have 1300 kcal in the diet of a two-year-old child, 1500 kcal in the diet of a three-year-old child, 1600 kcal in the diet of a four-year-old child and 1700 kcal in the diet of a five-year-old child.

  • 7 am : Egg, roti, bhaji, halwa, khichuri or dal roti. Finally, milk and fruit.
  • 12 noon : Rice, fish, meat, pulses, vegetables. If you want to eat milk at the end.
  • 5 pm : like 7 am.
  • 9-10 pm : about 12 noon.

If you want to eat five times a day, after having breakfast at 7 am, give breakfast again at 10 am. Then have lunch between 1:00 and 1:30.

A child's head size should be as it ages

It is important to know whether the baby's brain is growing properly with age. By measuring the circumference of the head regularly, the volume and growth of the brain inside the head can be understood. Because head circumference increases with brain growth, head circumference does not increase without brain growth.

Hold the tape where the ears touch the head and measure around the head so that the tape is just above the brow bone and touching the very back of the head.

The late legendary pediatrician Dr. MR Mollah Sir has discussed in detail about the importance of head circumference in children in several books written by him. According to the chart prepared by sir, the head circumference of children at different ages is highlighted. You can share and save the text to know the circumference of the baby's head at different ages.
